Saturday, Eleanor and I attended my niece Dana's cheer competition. We had hoped to watch our neighbor, Brooke, as well, but missed her by a few minutes. I'm amazed at what these Middle School girls can do. It was an invitational, and the last competition of the year, featuring Middle School, JV and Varsity cheerleaders. Shelby Middle School took first for Middle School, and Shelby as a school district took second overall. I saw a few girls walking around with t-shirts that said You think this isn't a sport? Meet me on the mat. Loved it.

| Dana – center. I love this picture. Most of the girls are scrambling around while my niece stands, dazed, in the center. |

| Worried girls. Brooke, with her hands folded on the left, Dana, arms crossed in the middle. |

I hold my breath when they do the lifts!
