Tuesday's training report

Emailed to me last week – my Daily Mile 2013 report
907 miles last year – 32 lbs. burned
Sunday afternoon, Kyle caught me upstairs, singing to Call Me Maybe with Ellie and Josie while cleaning the bathroom. The three of us were enjoying a full-on dance party. I think he wondered what was so exciting about cleaning the bathroom. The answer? After 24 days of being sick and injured, I finally felt good. No hacking cough, no stuffy nose and slight residual headache, a rib that just barely burns with each tiny movement instead of shooting pain throughout my body. To top the week off, I even went on a long-ish walk/run with Amy.

Total miles: 12

Part of my New Year's resolution was to include more strength work into my life. While enjoying a dinner together last week (with no husbands or kids), my friend Tracey recommended a Tracy Anderson strength routine. I did the routine twice last week, and boy is my body sore – in a good way. It's a tad Jane Fonda-ish, but quick and very doable. I'm going to add this in for at least a month and see if it's what my body needs, or if I should go back to traditional weights.

Last week's plan:
MONDAY:  Rest done
TUESDAY: 3 miles easy walked 2 miles on the TM + TA (Tracy Anderson) strength work
WEDNESDAY: 2.5 miles easy walked/ran 3 miles on the TM
THURSDAY: 30 minutes of weights TA strength work
FRIDAY: 2 miles easy ran/walked 2 miles on the TM
SATURDAY: Easy yoga ran/walked 5 miles with Amy
SUNDAY: 5 mile "long run" (or walk) TA strength work

This week's plan:
MONDAY:  4 miles easy + TA strength work
TUESDAY: TA strength work
WEDNESDAY: 3 miles speedwork
THURSDAY: TA strength work
FRIDAY: 3 easy miles + TA strength work
SATURDAY: TA strength work
SUNDAY: 6 mile long run

Life is looking healthy again!
