Homemade Egg Dye

No need to run out and purchase an egg dying kit. Dying eggs at home with a few ingredients from your cupboard is much easier…and cheap. (Or should I say "cheep"?)

Homemade Egg Dye

Ingredients
5 cups hot water
6 tablespoons white vinegar
food coloring
hard boiled eggs

Directions
In a large glass bowl, combine the hot water and vinegar. Once combined, pour into five ceramic or glass mugs (one cup in each mug). Place approximately 1/4 teaspoon of coloring into each mug.

To dye your eggs, place one hard-boiled egg at a time in the mug. Let them sit for a minute or so and then carefully remove them and allow them to dry. If you want the color to be brighter, re-dip them.

To make designs on your eggs (like above photo) draw on your eggs with a white crayon before dipping them.

Have fun!
