RECIPE: Apple Crisp
This is one of those recipes that I must make once or twice each fall. Apples, oats and brown sugar. So simple and delicious.
RECIPE: Apple Crisp
Ingredients
5 cups sliced, peeled apples
1/4 cup white sugar
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
3/4 cup whole wheat flour
3/4 cup whole oats
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 stick butter
Directions
Cover the bottom on an 8"x8" pan with apples. Toss in white sugar and cinnamon. Stir to combine.
In a medium bowl, combine the oats, flour, brown sugar and salt. Cut in 3/4 of the stick of butter. Using a pastry blender, mix it all together until crumbly.
Dump the oat mixture onto the apples. Thinly slice the remaining 1/4 stick of butter over the top of the oats.
Bake at 350˚ for one hour.
